About Us

Mission and Vision

Committed to developing Individual Potential

We are committed to developing and directing each student’s potential, horizons and aspirations, because we believe that true education means more than pursuing a certain course of study. It has to do with the whole person, and with the whole period of existence possible to human beings. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental and the spiritual powers.

Purpose Statement

Committed to inviting learners into God’s story

The purpose of Adventist education is to invite learners into God’s story, where each student may discover their identity in Christ and their place in His kingdom.

“The true object of education is to restore the image of God in the soul.”

Adventist schools cultivate environments where students thrive as learners and as people of faith, equipped to live justly, love compassionately, serve generously, and care for creation as they join God’s mission.

  • Vision: Educating for Eternity
  • Mission: Flourishing Adventist Schools, transforming learners into disciple-influencers
  • Our Deep Hope: Lives and communities transformed

Adventist Special Character

Committed to reflecting Christian values

Adventist Special Character is defined by the distinctive qualities and values common to Adventist Education. In New Zealand, state-integrated schools are termed ‘special character’ schools as they merge the state-based curricula, standards and levels with distinctive qualities of Adventist Special Character.

Values

  • Living in a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Cultural Heritage

Committed to respecting our Christian and cultural heritages

Adventist Education has a rich heritage that has accrued over the past 150 years and we continue to acknowledge this in the values we currently hold. In addition, each of our schools has a rich cultural and linguistic heritage that we acknowledge and respect. Our practice therefore is a synthesis of history, language and identity, seen through the lens of a deep Christian faith.

The Proprietor [The NZ SDA Schools Association Ltd]

Committed to responsible stewardship and wise governance

The New Zealand Seventh-day Adventist Schools Association Limited owns, administers and is responsible for the maintenance of Adventist Schools in New Zealand, while the day-to-day operation of schools is funded by the Ministry of Education. This integration is mutually beneficial to both parties and enables parents to choose a faith-based education as an affordable alternative to state or private schooling.

As state-integrated schools, Adventist schools charge attendance dues. These are set by the Proprietor and go towards the property costs of each school, so that families can access a faith-based education at an affordable cost. The current amount, payment options and any assistance available can be confirmed with your school office.
